Phone dropped in water, now has no call sound

Symptoms

What to do

1. Power off the phone if it isn't already off, to reduce risk of a short while wet.
2. Do not charge the phone or plug in any accessory until it's fully dry.
3. Gently pat the phone dry with a soft cloth, especially around ports and speaker grilles.
4. Stand the phone upright in a dry, ventilated area (not rice, which can leave dust in ports) for at least 24–48 hours.
5. After drying, power the phone on and check the audio route setting to make sure it isn't stuck on 'headphones'.
6. Test speaker and mic function with a call or voice memo.
7. If sound is muffled but present, it likely needs more drying time.
8. If no sound returns after full drying, or if you notice corrosion, have the phone professionally inspected rather than continuing to use it.
