Operator is built to work without knowing who you are. You don’t need an account, an email address or a payment method to use it.

Your photos

• Before a photo leaves your device, Operator resizes and re-encodes it in your browser. That removes EXIF metadata, including GPS location.
• Our server checks the photo, re-encodes it again in memory, and sends it to our AI provider to produce your answer.
• We do not save your photos to disk, a database or file storage, and we never make them public.
• Your conversation lives only in your open browser tab. Close or refresh the tab and it’s gone; follow-up questions send the conversation back so the server doesn’t need to keep it.
• We do not sell your photos or anything you type.

Our AI provider

Answers are generated by OpenAI through its API. Under OpenAI’s API policies, content sent through the API is not used to train its models by default and may be retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days for abuse and misuse monitoring before deletion. We may change providers; this page will say which one we use.

What we do collect

• Anonymous usage events such as “photo uploaded” or “diagnosis completed”, with no text, photos or identifiers attached.
• A one-way hash of your IP address, used only to enforce the free daily limit. We don’t store raw IP addresses in our application.
• Standard hosting logs kept by our host (Vercel) for security and reliability, for a short period.
• Privacy-friendly page analytics (Vercel Web Analytics), which does not use cookies.

We don’t ask for your location. If you include personal details in a photo or description, they are processed only to answer you — please avoid including faces, documents or other personal information you don’t need to share.

Cookies

Operator does not set advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

Operator is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date above.
