What to do
- Decide whether to patch a small lifted edge or remove and replace the whole sheet, since patches rarely look seamless.
- For a small bubble, use a pin to prick it and a squeegee to press the air out toward the nearest edge.
- For peeling edges, trim away the loose section carefully with a sharp blade if it's small and near a corner.
- To fully remove old film, heat it gently with a hair dryer and peel slowly, pulling at a low angle.
- Clean any adhesive residue with a razor blade (on glass only) and a mix of water and a little dish soap.
- Apply new film following the product's wet-application instructions, squeegeeing out water and air from the center outward.
- Let the new film cure fully, avoiding cleaning it for the first few weeks.
