Symptoms
- App shows one node as 'offline' or 'not connected' while others are fine
- Devices near that node have no or very weak Wi-Fi
- Node's status light is off, red, or blinking a warning color
- Node was working before and stopped without being moved
Likely causes
- CommonNode too far from the nearest connected nodeEach node needs a reasonably strong signal from its neighbor node to relay the connection.
- CommonPower interruptionA brief power outage or the node being unplugged can leave it needing a manual restart.
- PossibleTemporary software glitchMesh nodes occasionally lose sync with the main unit and need a restart to rejoin.
- PossibleFirmware update in progress or failedAn update that didn't complete can leave a node in a non-functional state temporarily.
What to do
- Check that the offline node is still plugged into power and the outlet works.
- Unplug the node for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and wait several minutes for it to rejoin the mesh.
- In the app, check the estimated signal strength between that node and its neighbor; if it's marked poor, move the node closer.
- Restart the main router as well, since a full system restart often resolves sync issues.
- Check the app for a pending firmware update and let it finish, without unplugging the node during the update.
- If the node still won't reconnect, remove it from the mesh in the app and add it again as if new.
- If it repeatedly drops in the same spot, that location is likely too far for a reliable mesh connection; move it closer or add another node between.
Tools and parts

When to call a pro
If a specific node repeatedly goes offline even close to another node, it may be defective and worth a warranty replacement.
