Charging port pins bent or damaged

Symptoms

• Charging cable is harder to insert than before

Likely causes

What to do

1. Turn off or disconnect from any active charging session before inspecting the port.
2. Look closely into the port with a flashlight for any visibly bent, pushed-in, or misaligned pins.
3. Do not attempt to force a cable into a port with visibly bent pins, since this can cause further damage.
4. If comfortable and the damage is minor, very gently straighten a slightly bent pin with a small precision tool, but stop if it doesn't move easily.
5. Check the charging cable itself for damage that might have caused or been caused by the port issue.
6. Keep the charging port cover closed when not in use to prevent debris and moisture from causing future issues.
