E-bike won't turn on

Symptoms

• Pressing the power button does nothing
• Display screen stays blank
• Battery indicator lights don't come on when checked separately
• Bike worked fine before being stored for a while

Likely causes

What to do

1. Remove the battery and check it seats fully and locks into place on the frame or rack.
2. Press the button on the battery itself (many e-bike batteries have their own indicator lights and power button) to check charge level.
3. Charge the battery for at least 30–60 minutes and try turning the bike on again, since a very low battery may not power the display immediately.
4. Check the connector between the battery and the bike for corrosion or looseness, and clean or reseat it.
5. Look for a fuse near the battery or controller and check it against the manual if the manufacturer identifies one.
6. Try the charger on a different battery if you have access to one, to rule out a bad battery versus a bad charger.
7. If the battery charges and seats correctly but the bike still won't power on, the controller or display likely needs professional diagnosis.
