Likely causes

What to do

- Remove the upper access panel, insulation, and plastic guard to find the red reset button on the high-limit switch.
- Press the reset button firmly; a click means it reset.
- Restore power and wait 30–60 minutes to see if the water starts heating.
- If it trips again immediately, leave power off and treat it as a thermostat or element fault needing a professional.
