Dryer won't start

Symptoms

3. Try pressing the door switch in by hand with the door open to see if the dryer attempts to start.
4. Select a basic cycle and press start firmly, holding it for a couple of seconds on push-to-start models.
5. Listen for a hum with no tumbling, which points to a stuck drum, belt, or motor issue rather than a switch problem.
6. If nothing happens at all, including lights or display, treat it as a power problem and check the outlet or breaker further.
7. If power and door switch check out, the start switch or motor likely needs professional diagnosis.
