Dishwasher runs but you don't hear water

Symptoms

• Motor sound present but no splashing or spraying noise
• Dishes are dry and unwashed after a completed cycle

• Cycle completes its full time as if normal

Likely causes

3. Listen closely right at the start of the cycle for a fill sound; if you never hear water entering at all, focus on the inlet valve and supply line.
4. Open the door briefly during the wash phase (carefully, pausing the cycle) to check if there's any water at all in the tub.
5. Power-cycle the unit at the breaker to reset the control board, then try a cycle again.
6. If no water enters despite an open supply valve and a free-moving float, the inlet valve likely needs professional testing or replacement.
